The somewhat quiet, holiday interrupted, week of trading ended with a bang. Today was triple witch expiration and the S&P quarterly index rebalances, a big liquidity event for institutional investors. In the closing auction on the NYSE ~2.68B shares traded, the fourth largest closing auction in history.
